As of October 1st, 2008 it will be required by
Federal law, that
when you sell cattle you must
have a Country Of Origin Labeling (COOL) document
signed before the cattle can be sold
that day. This document will take the place
of the EID tags that were first talked about being
used as a way to identify cattle from the USA.
So please stop by the office to sign your document
to prove your cattle are of USA origin.
This is only a one time signature on cattle of USA origin.

All
of the packers were on hand for this sale buying
cattle on a market we called 1 lower to steady from last week,
with a premium on Drug Free &
Implant Free.
We had a good test of the market, it appears we are
getting caught up on all of the heavy cattle and are
to more suitable sized fat cattle coming to town.
If
you have Drug Free & Implant Free cattle to sell
make sure you have signed papers in the office.
It is the FARMERS RESPONSIBILITY to
make sure all the correct papers are signed before
the cattle are sold. We ABSOLUTLY CAN
NOT sell the cattle Drug Free or Implant
Free without the correct papers signed.
